Yellowknife Judo Club
Yellowknife is the capital of Canada’s Northwest Territories and is located on Chief Drygeese Territory, the traditional land of Dene First Nations. The Yellowknife Judo Club is a privately run dojo affiliated with the NWT Judo Association that offers a large variety of judo programs in the city to ensure there is something for everyone!

All athletes and coaches of the NWT Judo Association must be affiliated with Judo Canada. This is a mandatory annual fee of $60. Judo Canada is the national sport governing body for the sport of judo in Canada. Affiliation with Judo Canada insures that all active members are insured for accidents, receive recognized belt promotions, and are covered by national policies.
There are several different Judo Canada affiliation types:
Yudansha $60: For full members with a Shodan belt rank or higher, participating in our regular programming for adults and teens. Also competing in territorial and national tournaments.
Mudansha $60: For full members with any coloured belt rank participating in our regular programming for adults, teens or children. Also competing in territorial and national tournaments.
Introduction $10: For first time members who are trying judo in one of our introduction programs with a maximum length of 15 weeks throughout the year. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
School $5: For students participating in our in school and after school programs as well as PD day camps.
If at any point a member upgrades their Introduction or School membership to a full membership, full fees are owed.

The NWT Judo Association's goal is to ensure that anyone that wants to participate in judo can do so! This is why we run a FREE year-long Girls Only Judo program.
FAMILY JUDO
Age: 3 - 6 (Accompanied by a parent/guardian)
Family Judo I: Sunday 9:00 - 9:45
Family Judo II: Sunday 10:00 - 10:45
Our Family Judo program is designed for ages 3 to 6 accompanied by a parent or guardian who are interested in learning judo through fun and interactive games.
To accommodate more families, this class is now being offered in two sections on Sunday morning.

WOMXN FIREWEED JUDO

Inspired by the resilience of fireweed, this program supports women, womxn, and non-binary individuals in building strength, confidence, and connection through judo, in a safe, inclusive space.
The Womxn Fireweed Judo Program has been generously funded by the Women's Initiatives Grant through the GNWT Executive and Indigenous Affairs Department.
